Right now, we have an exciting opportunity for a Nurse Manager in our PTU/PACU at UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica. Under the direction of the Director, Perioperative Nursing & Operations, you will be responsible for fiscal, human resources, clinical, materials management, and communication operations of your units. You'll provide direct supervision of clinical and support staff and help direct peri-anesthesia patient care while monitoring environmental safety, fiscal management and staff development. You'll work to establish and grow collaborative relationships with hospital surgeons, anesthesia, pain program, and other offsite departments and leadership.
QualificationsWe're seeking an experienced pre/post-surgery manager with a BSN (MSN preferred), current California RN license and ASPAN certification. You must also have: Demonstrated staff and fiscal management abilities and experience Excellent communication, interpersonal, collaboration and organization skills Knowledge of Joint Commission standards and state rules and regulations Strong assessment skills Skill in executing and coordinating PTU/PACU efforts within a rapidly changing environment Computer proficiency Experience implementing adult learning and motivational theories Ability to critically analyze research studies prior to recommending into practice Knowledge of patient flow for busy pre-admission and post-anesthesia care unit Ability to maintain professionalism and calmness during stressful and emergent situations
