To prescribe, delegate and coordinate nursing care provided throughout the hospital. To collaborate with other members of the health care delivery team including physicians, to deliver quality health care.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Performs nursing care for the patient in the immediate postoperative/post anesthesia period, assessing and documenting patient's status upon arrival in the recovery room. Provides nursing care the meet patient needs, related to surgical condition and type of anesthesia administered, monitoring patient and informing surgeon or anesthetist of observed complications.
2. As a fundamental member of the surgical team, the Recovery Room RN actively participates with other health care professionals when planning and providing patient care before, during and after the patient's surgical or invasive procedure.
3. Recovery RNs provide care across the surgical continuum.
