The Clinical Nurse Manager, in collaboration with the Director, assists in managing the patient care unit for administrative and clinical aspects to include organizing, developing, directing and assuring the delivery of cost-effective, quality patient care. Directs and oversees the process which ensures that patient care is delivered in accordance with established hospital, State, Federal and Joint Commission, ANA policies, procedures, regulations, ethics, and standards. Provides education to staff based on theoretical and clinical expertise. This position will have twenty-four hour accountability to ensure clinical resource and continuity of patient care.

Acquires, maintains current knowledge in clinical and administrative practice.
Collaborates with physicians and all disciplines at all levels in the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs and services.
Collaborates with Assistant Nurse Managers and other providers of nursing/patient care within the delivery system for provision of seamless delivery of care.
Promotes and understands effective use of organization, management, and nursing theories and research.
Provides leadership in critical thinking, conflict management, and problem solving.
Recommends alternative approaches to maximize patient outcome potential.
Anticipates, recognizes and manages emergent/unsafe situations and initiates interventions.
Assesses quality of patient care practices and care through data and provides feed back to improve outcomes.
Works in conjunction with appropriate departments.
Fosters interdisciplinary planning and collaboration that focuses on the individuals and populations served.
Minimum: Bachelorâ��s Degree in Nursing, related field or equivalent competencies/job experience
Preferred: Masterâ��s Degree in Nursing, Education, Management or related field, or demonstrated equivalent competencies preferred
Five years of experience in clinical related specialty; two years supervisory or management experience, working knowledge of Quality Improvement process and Joint Commission standards.
Registered Nurse - licensed in the State of Florida.
American Heart Association BLS Certification required.
American Heart Association ACLS required for ACU/PACU.
Managerial experience - able to relate to a large variety of individuals. National certification in area of specialty (e.g., CNOR) is strongly preferred.
