| Position Summary: The Labor and Delivery nurse assumes responsibility and accountability for an assigned number of clients for a designated timeframe. Provides antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn and obstetrical perioperative and perianesthesia family centered care, to childbearing women and their families, as appropriate. Provides care using the nursing process, in accordance with policies and procedures, regulatory standards and the philosophy of Hialeah Hospital.

Qualifications:
Position Qualification: (Training, Education, Experience, Skills and Abilities)
� Current RN licensure by the Florida State Board of Nursing.
� Two years of Labor and Delivery/Newborn Nursery experience preferred.
� Completion of an AWOHNN approved Basic Fetal Monitoring Course within 3 months of hire, Intermediate within 6 months of hire and Advanced within 2 years of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
� Basic computer knowledge.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
� Current Florida RN License
� BLS Certification
� NRP Certification within 90 days if new to area
� ACLS Certification
� Completion of an AWOHNN approved Basic Fetal Monitoring Course within 3 months of hire if new to area, Intermediate within 6 months of hire and Advanced within 2 years of hire and every 2 years thereafter.
