Fairview Ridges Hospital is located in Burnsville, Minnesota just south of Minneapolis near the 35E and 35W junctions. Total licensure patient beds are currently at 150. We care for patients of all ages, including pediatrics. We are seeking an RN for our Medical Cardiac Intermediate Care Unit. This is a 39 bed unit with telemetry and telemetry hub.Med/Surg 3 boasts a variety of patients to include cardiac needs, telemetry needs, behavioral distress, complex medical needs, and intermediate ICU stepdown patients.
About This Position:
This is a 56 hour per two weeks, night shift, every other weekend, 8 hour shifts
Position reports to Nurse Manager or Patient Care Supervisor
Nursing care team includes RN, advance practice nurse, clinical education specialist, and a nursing assistant or nursing station technician on all shifts. Telemetry tech on all shifts.
Patient load typically 4 on days/eves and 6 on nights, with the support NA or NST. IMC ratios are 3-1.

Responsibilities/Job Description
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of nursing care for all assigned patient population(s). The RN is responsible for performing these responsibilities in accordance with all policy, procedures, professional practice guidelines and the MN Nurse Practice Act. The RN coordinates care with members of the health care team and delegates responsibilities to others as appropriate. RN on this unit will cross train to Post op surgical, oncology, and complex medical patients. Nurse utilizes arrhythmia monitoring when placed with cardiac/tele/stepdown patients. Staff we will be expected to support our robust team model and use our EPIC computerized charting.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
MN RN licensure in good standing by start date
BLS for health care providers
Must have some experience working as an RN
Training in medical clinical nursing and arrhythmia monitoring, basic EKG interpretation, and cardiac drips is required or need to train and pass upon hire
Excellent critical thinking skills
Strong communication skills both in person and via phone/emails
Comfortable using computers
Must be able to work in a team environment and delegation skills
Must be able to work with a diverse patient population
Preferred qualifications
BSN or willingness to obtain in the next year
Experience working in a support role (if no experience as an RN) NA, PCA, NST or similar
Familiarity with EPIC
