The incumbent practices as a RN in the Outpatient Surgery Unit (OSU) located in the Operative Care Division in Portland. This unit prepares patients for surgery and recovers patients postoperatively with or without sedation or anesthesia. The RN is accountable for: providing care to the surgical patient as assigned which includes assessing patient readiness for surgery, monitoring patient recovery, evaluating plan of care and ensuring thorough patient education is provided; collaborating with the interdisciplinary team to continuously improve patien/customer satisfaction and patient care outcomes; and assuring that standards of care are being maintained and followed. Based on education and experience, the RN may be assigned responsibilities as preceptor and/or charge nurse, or unit shift leader. ACLS is required within 6 months of hire. Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, tours between 0600 - 2000 as needed by service. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
