The Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) staff provides preoperative and Phase II post recovery care to patients who have received anesthesia from general to local analgesic. The ASU focus on the preparation for surgery with the patient/family and the preparation for discharge to home or other extended facility. Scope of care provided by nursing personnel includes: Pre-operative care, including pre-op phone calls Assessment and management during patient stay in ASU Post-op follow up calls Clinical Management Patient and family education Phase II recovery of patients who received conscious sedation/general anesthesia The ASU staff works collaboratively with the Surgical Providers implementing the plan of care for patients requiring surgery as an outpatient or inpatient. The care is multidisciplinary, including collaboration with the dietitian, Care Coordinators, Social Workers, PACT staff, and various providers in the community. Work Schedule: 6:00am - 4:30pm, applicant will work 4, 10 hour shifts per week, no weekends. Day off will be discussed at the interview. Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
