Recovery room nurse provides direct nursing care for anesthetized patients during the immediate post-operative or post-procedural period. Bilingual in Spanish a plus! Works in conjunction with the anesthesia team to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Duties include, initiate IV, monitoring patients when they are still under the effects of anesthesia. Patient observation is an essential role of the recovery room nurse. On a regular basis, take part in; patient's vital signs, such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature and perfusion status. The RR RN is expected to treat and address all and any abnormal vitals findings within their scope of practice.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State where services are provided.
One or more of the following required:
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date. Any issuing authority accepted.
BLS Provider specializing in Basic Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
PACU or acute care experience preferred.
