This position requires the employee to be on station to assist with telehealth appointments, facilitate video visits and assist providers as needed. The LPN will also assist with Primary Care duties in the clinic as time allows. The Telehealth Clinical Technician (TCT) serves in a generalist role to support and manage telehealth clinical encounters from the patient and provider location as the site Telepresenter, imager for telehealth store and forward applications, clinic manager for real time telehealth events, including patient education activities, provision of equipment for the Telehealth program, technical and scheduling activities, and other program support duties, as assigned. Primary Care/Telehealth is a member of the interdisciplinary health care team who functions with a high degree of complexity and independence, is self-directing, and displays good judgment and initiative in the selection of appropriate procedures and guidelines for each patient. Performs telehealth imaging, including tele-retinal screening, tele-dermatology, tele-wound care imaging and other telehealth programming as technology becomes available, as identified and referred by the primary care provider, other providers, and the imager. Guided by local policy/standing orders, the imager can initiate consultations for patients on behalf of the primary care provider, who retains responsibility for patient care. The imager will provide patient education regarding the imaging process. Serves as a patient site clinical coordinator and manager of telehealth services is assigned clinic(s). Is essential for the clinical aspects of the intervention. Responsible for the patient site clinical, business, scheduling and technical aspects for real-time telehealth applications, including, all specialty and primary care telehealth encounters (clinical video, imaging and support of home telehealth). This includes but is not limited to telehealth encounters for: telemental health, tele-audiology, tele-ICU, Home Base Primary Care, Pre-op and Post op surgery; neurology, cardiology, tele-rehabilitation and tele-patient education clinics. Provides advanced clinical technology information to patients, staff, and providers regarding Telehealth, Education and Training processes. Assists the remote and local provider, employees and patients as needed. Provides Primary Care Nursing duties in the clinic when all telehealth duties have been fulfilled or there are no telehealth visits scheduled.
