Fairview Southdale Hospital (Edina, MN) is 340 beds and boosts one of the busiest Operating Rooms and Surgical Services units within the entire Fairview System. We are looking for a Medication Scribe to join our team to support the surgical services department.
Our med scribes are dedicated to excellent patient care and work very well together to ensure PTA medication lists are accurate and complete for our patients. They work with doctors, nurses and pharmacists to enter patient medication information into the electronic medical record. The end product is a complete, current and accurate medication list in the electronic record obtained through a streamlined process that contributes to patient satisfaction.
This is a full-time, day/evening position, 8 hours shifts with occasional weekends and benefit eligible. Shift times starting as early as 5:30 am Monday-Fridays.

Prepares current patient specific medication list; by screening PTA (prior to admission) on medication lists for our surgical patients.
Gathers medication and allergy lists from surgical patients prior to their surgical date and then enters this information in our EMR- EPIC.
Clarifies obvious drug problems in medicate regimen
Interview patients after registration and prior to their pre op admission to ensure their medication lists are accurate so home medications can be given after surgery.
Decentralized order transcription and /or order entry (as required by pharmacy site)
Documentation in EMR/EPIC
Two years of Pharmacy, LPN, or medication administration experience.
Associate Degree in related healthcare field such as LPN or Pharmacy Tech
Certified Pharmacy Technician or Licensed Practical Nurse
