Responsible for the development, implementation and management of employee orientation, training, and ongoing employee education in the department of Central Sterile Processing. This role is also responsible for ensuring department compliance and with applicable clinical practice certifications, ASNSI/AAMI, OSHA, TJC, and Vanderbilt Health System established guidelines, as well as customer-focused prescribed and approved best practices.
Your Department As a leading, nationally recognized academic medical center, our surgeons perform some of the most advanced surgical procedures at the forefront of medical science today. VUMC has 56 main campus operating rooms with 11 more at our our surgical centers. We process more than 4,000 instrument trays per week, so we are searching for a candidate who has demonstrated experience and competency in leadership in larger scale Central Sterile Processing facilities.
Your Role You will have responsibility for educators and other staff members, working to improve efficiency and staff development. Key responsibilities for this position will include:
Lead the development and implementation of knowledge-based translation strategies, including, but not limited to e-learning, technical training, simulation-based training, etc.
Accountable for team performance as pertains to process improvement, quality and safety projects
Responsible for the implementation and continued education and training of staff relative to compliance with MIFUs for of all products and services introduced (for use) to the department
Provides necessary data and forecasts to key internal stakeholders
Works in partnership with the department leadership team to ensure the appropriate strategies are in place for optimal successful results
Identify both current and future training needs for new and current team members; implements tactics consistent with strategic goals
Responsible for onboarding and training of new team members; assists in planning and training program completion goals for selected team members
Reporting Structure This position will report to the Director of Quality & Safety, Perioperative Services.
