Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Nurse Practitioner for the Arthritis Center at Morristown Medical Center. This per diem role will be 2-3 days per week. Come join our team!
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Conducts health assessments including recording complete medical and psychosocial history, records symptoms and physically examines patients.
Ensures medical records reflect the patientsa prescribed and over-the-counter medications.
Completes a thorough and accurate H&P for each patient prior to surgery.
Provides education to patients and families on disease prevention, in addition, gives pre-op instructions and education about their upcoming total joint replacement surgery.
Interprets EKGs and discusess results of diagnostic tests with patients and writes prescriptions if needed.
Initiates collaboration and referrals to appropriate specialty providers and consults with patientsa surgeons when indicated Also, must have a solid grasp of basic emergency care skills to quickly address urgent medical issues.
Participates in performance improvement activities as related to PPEC/AC. Supports preparation for Joint Commission, DOH & other regulatory agency visits.
Coordinates and provides education in area of specialty to meet the clinical and professional development needs of nursing staff.
Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.

Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
Qualifications
Education:
BSN required
Masters Degree required
Licenses and Certifications:
NJ NP License required
BLS required
Experience:
1-2 years NP experience required
