Under the direction of the Nurse Practitioner, this position provides infusion unit management, supervision, and direct nursing care, in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization. The Supervisor Infusion Registered Nurse will work collaboratively with the center’s leadership and staff on program development, and operational oversight.
Primary Responsibilities:
The Supervisor Infusion Registered Nurse is responsible for clinical operations of the Infusion Center, to include management of personnel, financial and operational management of drug administration, as well as collaboration on staff and program development
Can perform the duty and functions of the MA, CMA and LVN in routine and specialized procedures
Provides leadership and direction to providers and clinical staff, as well as work to ensure the overall workflow offers an optimal patient experience and is managed in a safe and efficient manner
Monitors and supports key business outcomes to include growth, service excellence, staff performance, patient outcomes, and achievements of overall short- and long-term goals of the center, and the organization
May perform additional highly specialized procedures as appropriate
Administers IV Medications and IV Therapy to patients upon order from the physician
Initiates standardized procedures and treatment according to standardized protocols
Ensures compliance with appropriate regulatory standards
Performs triage both by telephone and in person, using expert clinical judgment
Responsible for delivery of patient-centered care in an infusion outpatient setting, utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation
Deliver advanced professional patient-centered care to adults diagnosed with a wide array of acute and chronic illnesses, including those receiving curative treatment, support for chronic disease, palliative treatment, and end-of-life symptom management
Demonstrate proficiency in assessment skills, medication administration, pain management and other unit or initiative specific skills
Document all patient care appropriately according to practice and regulatory requirements
Collect patient’s health data and analyze assessment data in determining patient problems
Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
Current California RN License
2+ years of previous Nursing experience, with a minimum of 1-year previous infusion-specific Nursing experience
Must be ACLS Certified within 6 months of hire.

IV Certification
