JOB SUMMARY:

On this 24 bed IMC Unit, Registered Nurses will care for IMC-level patients at a 3:1 ratio. Nurses care for IMC level heart and vascular populations including heart failure and acute cardiology patients; mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant patients; post-CABG and TAVR patients; and, vascular surgeries including post-Carotid endarterectomies, bypass grafting, and endovascular/ stenting procedures. In addition, the HVPCU team also cares for IMC level urology, colorectal, and medicine patients including post-op ostomies, respiratory distress, GIB, and sepsis. The RN is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients including adult and pediatric patients. This position requires working every third weekend and some holidays.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Registered Nurse with a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania or a Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit

 6 months of experience working as a RN

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

3-4 years of IMC or ICU experience

Telemetry experience required

BLS and ACLS

PALS required within 6 months of hire

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently. 

Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally. 

Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally. 

Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly. 

Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
