Morristown Medical Center a member of Atlantic Health System, is seeking a full-time Nursing Educator for the Operating Room at the Ambulatory Surgery Center. The hours are Monday - Friday, 7am - 5pm. No weekends or call required.
Essential Job Functions:
Capable of working in a multi specialty facility, with vast knowledge of surgical procedures, equipment and supplies.
Organized and has strong computer capabilities.
Good communicator of information in multitude of ways to ensure information is available for all staff members.
Will be responsible for orientation of new staff members, in-services, education of new information and will work closely with ANM to ensure compliance and competency of staff.
Strong leadership skills and knowledge of AORN standards and aseptic technique.
Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served. Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job.
Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
Candidate will utilize unit based education or quality initiatives, maintain employee education files, organize and track all new employee orientation and annual competencies,
Candidate will attend hospital wide education committee meetings and offerings yo bring important information back to the unit.
Valid New Jersey Nursing License Required
3-4 years of Operating Room experience as a Registered Nurse in multiservice ambulatory surgery center or inpatient operating room
