Medical and Surgical Specialties Nurse(SN) in the ambulatory care setting is goal oriented and outcome based. The Nursing Process provides the framework for Medical/Surgical Specialties Nursing practice. The (SN) uses evidence-based practice along with clinical expertise and client preferences to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate care. The Medical/Surgical SN formulates nursing diagnoses from pertinent assessment data and assist the Veteran in developing and prioritizing goals. Applicants pending the completion of educational or certification/licensure requirements may be referred and tentatively selected but may not be hired until all requirements are met.
