Inova Health System has an exciting opportunity for either a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in our Pre-Op clinic. The clinic is a hybrid between a primary care clinic and an emergency department. Each patient is new and you have to appropriately evaluate them within a short period of time to ensure they are optimized for their upcoming procedure and anesthesia. All of our patients are pre-procedure patients who have an upcoming surgery or procedure requiring anesthesia at Inova. Interactions with patients include both in-person clinic visits and phone screens. Practitioners average 8-12 assessments/phone interviews per day. Patients with more extensive health history are triaged to in-person visits. Providers independently evaluate and manage patients, but
