Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery Physician Assistant Position Westchester Medical CenterThe Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Westchester Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join our Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery & Complex Family Planning. This is an employed position with comprehensive benefits. We are seeking a candidate who is passionate about providing all aspects of complex benign gynecology. We will provide clinical training as needed for the successful candidate. The Division of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery is currently comprised of two surgeons, with two additional attending surgeons expected to join in the next year. Job Responsibilities
Performs new patient history and physical exam
Performs office based procedures including but not limited to IUD insertion and removal, voiding trials, endometrial biopsy, colposcopy and trigger point injections
Initiates and maintains medical management of abnormal uterine bleeding and endometriosis
Provides perioperative counseling and performs routine postoperative assessments
Triage and provide in office care for urgent patient complaints
Provides patient follow-up on lab results and referrals
Interpret radiologic studies and provide patient counseling
Answers patient phone calls
Basic office functions such as stocking supplies, billing and coding, routine insurance data entry
Provide surgical assistance in the operating room
Travel to multiple sites throughout the WMC Health Network
Qualifications
Completion of Physician Assistant training program
Willingness to learn counseling and procedural skills
Commitment to high quality patient-centered care
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to embrace a fast paced and dynamic environment where daily responsibilities could change frequently
Experience with electronic medical record system (Cerner preferred but not required)
Experience in obstetrics & gynecology clinical setting or other surgical specialty
Bilingual English / Spanish preferred
