Overview
Atlantic Health System is seeking a per diem Registered Nurse for the Pre-Procedure Evaluation Center at Morristown Medical Center, to work 7:30am-3:30pm, including weekend once a month.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
Candidate will have the ability to utilize the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement and evaluate the plan of care for patients served.
Through the model of Shared Governance, collaborate with all members of the health care team with a focus on promoting evidenced based care within a healing culture for the patient population served and their families.
Candidate will demonstrate and embrace the PRIDE core values (Professionalism, Respect, Involvement, Dignity and Excellence) in every aspect of their job.
Accurately and thoroughly completes all nursing documentation needed for patients seen at PPEC/AC or when speaking to patients over the phone which includes medical and surgical history, allergies, medication intake, fall assessment, education and other pertinent information.
Completes nursing assessments in Epic.
Reports any abnormalities to the appropriate staff, such as surgeons' offices, anesthesiologists, etc.
Educates patients and family members as needed either on a one-to-one basis or in a formal education class.
Gives the appropriate pre-op instructions specific to the patients' needs and their scheduled surgery.
Qualifications
Minimum Education:
High School Diploma or GED required
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required
BSN Required
Masters Preferred
Minimum Experience:
1-2 years of Preadmission Testing experience preferred.
License/Certifications:
Valid NJ Registered Nurse License
BLS, ACLS Required
Qualifications:
Candidate must have excellent communication and computer skills.
Must have good interpersonal and communication skills with patients, family members and other staff.
Candidate must respect privacy, property and confidentiality with sensitivity to the diverse cultures served.
Candidate must be a team player.
