Nurse Practitioner

UVA Surgical Care is seeking a talented Nurse Practitioner to join their growing team in Haymarket, Virginia. This is a robust Bariatric practice with continued growth opportunities. A Reflux program is being developed at the present time. Our collegial group consists of three MD's and three Registered Dietitians. Advanced care practitioner will primarily see patients in clinic in our busy Bariatric/Foregut and General Surgery Clinic.

Responsibilities include:

• Management of both pre and post Bariatric patients through the weight loss surgery process
• Management of labs, patient calls and non emergent post op concerns of patients
• Potential for non surgical weight loss- i.e. weight management, counseling and medication therapy
• Rounding on post op patients at UVA Haymarket Medical Center and UVA Prince William Medical Center (daily census including discharges is 1-3)
• Potential for assisting in OR if that is an interest
• Seeing between 10-15 patients a day in clinic

Qualification:

• Board Certified Nurse Practitioner with one year experience preferred
• Surgical background preferred but not a requirement
• Former Pre Op or OR nursing experience would be ideal
