The Transplant/General Surgical department at Porter Adventist Hospital is a 30-bed unit caring for pre- and post-op general surgery, transplant, urology, complex abdominal surgery, and remote telemetry patients, with some overflow for trauma, orthopedic, spine, and medical/ surgical patients. The General Surgical unit cares for a variety of complex patients, allowing associates to gain a wide knowledge base. The unit mission is to be kind, help others, listen with our hearts, and provide an exceptional experience for all who enter our doors. There is excellent teamwork, shared governance, nurse autonomy, self-scheduling, and learning opportunities.
