St. Luke's Health System in Twin Falls is seeking a Manager Nursing/Pt Care to join our IP Surgical team.
Unit Summary
36 single bed unit, with primary focus on recovery of the post op patients. We have a mixture of surgery patients, both elective and emergent, that include specialties of ortho, spine, general/trauma, urology, women's surgery, ENT, and vascular. We also provide care for medical and cardio overflow when needed. We are a fast-paced, skilled, energetic team that promote a culture of safety and thrive on teamwork.
Position SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Manager of Nursing and Patient Care to oversee our nursing team and ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care. The Manager of Nursing and Patient Care will be responsible for managing the nursing staff, developing patient care policies and procedures, and overseeing the implementation of quality improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities
Accountable for achieving evidence-based protocols, harm index, HCAPS, readmissions, throughput targets, length of stay, avoidable days, vacancy, turnover, retention, direct report rounding, productivity, overtime, expense targets, work place safety and staff engagement performance metrics.
Provides increased leadership visibility through actively engaging in real-time patient rounding, to support coaching and mentoring of the patient care team.
Determines the appropriate staff mix to ensure adequate resources are available to meet patient care needs, to include: hiring, backfill and training of staff.
Develops staff and creates a culture of transparency, openness and support.
Initiate and foster continuous improvement within the department(s). Identify and resolve patient/customer satisfaction issues and complaints.
Identifies opportunities for improved financial performance, implements strategies to reduce costs and improve the quality of care/service and maintain a safe work environment.
Ensure compliance with regulations governing hospitals/area/service and practice/area/ service. Ensure that policy, procedures and standards are developed, implemented and maintained.
Communicates program priorities, policies, and procedures to ensure consistent patient experience and optimal outcomes.
Participates in establishing and maintaining communication between ancillary departments, physicians, nursing personnel and other health care professions.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelors' of Nursing Degree
- Experience: 7 years' relevant experience
- Previous leadership experience strongly preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN License from the State of Practice
