Responsibility will include patient care by working with placement of navigation equipment and supplies around the cranium for brain surgery and spine surgery cases that may involve working with nursing/surgeon and patients. Responsible for collaborating and coordinating with Team Leaders, Patient Care Coordinators, surgeons, anesthesia department, and staff regarding the proper use of specialty equipment; maintaining this specialty equipment prior to and/or during specialty cases; surveying surgical needs and the operationalization of the equipment to these procedures and surgical needs and responsible for maintaining specialty equipment in optimum condition through use of in hours services, manufacturer services or third party services. Troubleshoots equipment issues and coordinates repairs as needed. Maintains bone freezer maintenance and alarm systems and oversees and maintains medical gases. Provides leadership guidance on equipment for staff and vendors with excellent quality outcomes and ensures recommended standards and regulatory requirements are upheld. Collaborates with the Bio Medical Department, Sterile Processing Department, and the Perioperative Educator, vendors, the Anesthesia department, I.T, Radiology, Communications department and Integrated Services on all equipment issues. Gives input for Capital Budget on equipment issues in order to achieve fiscal year business plans. Safety Officer for Surgery. Manages work order for Surgery. Supports the mission, vision and values of Trinity Mother Frances.
Requirements:
BLS Certification
AS in Electronics, Biomedical Technology or Manufacturer's training and applicable experience
2 years experience working with specialty equipment in a surgical setting
