Special Delivery Co. birth center located in Arlington, Washington, is dedicated to providing exceptional care and support to expectant mothers and their families. We are currently seeking a compassionate and skilled midwife to join our team. As a midwife at Special Delivery Co., you will play a pivotal role in ensuring safe and positive birthing experiences for our clients. 

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Supports women in pregnancy, birth, postpartum and beyond
• Equips, encourages, and strengthens mothers and their families in their journey into birth and motherhood.
• Diligent in making sure charting, labs, and all paperwork for clients are complete.
• Prepares mothers for birth, assists in helping couples with a birth plan.
• Is familiar with NFP and supports families 
• Supervise, Help, and Encourage mothers in labor, monitoring the condition of the unborn and using knowledge and help in pain management. 
• Supports clients, gives advice, and encourages mothers following birth or events such as miscarriage, stillbirth, neonatal abnormality and neonatal death.
• Team player that collaborates well with other midwives, birth assistants, doulas, and office staff.

• Licensed Midwife (LM) must have a current license to practice in Washington State OR apply for license when hired.
• New graduates are welcome to apply as well.

• Relevant experience: Previous experience working as a midwife in a birth center, hospital, or similar setting is preferred.
• Strong clinical skills: Proficiency in conducting prenatal assessments, assisting in deliveries, and providing postpartum care.
• Compassionate care: Demonstrated ability to provide emotional support, advocate for the well-being of mothers and babies.
• Attention to detail: Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with legal and regulatory standards.
• Flexibility and adaptability: Willingness to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs and priorities.
