Position Information:
The Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision and direction of the Director of Orthopaedics and other attending physicians, provides pre and post-operative care, fracture care, post trauma care and general musculoskeletal care in the Orthopaedic inpatient and outpatient. Functions as an educator for students and residents from healthcare education programs. The APP is a team player and works well alongside all consulting disciplines to deliver competent medical care within the scope of their practice. APP is responsible for maintaining the scope of practice agreed upon in the collaborative practice agreement, as well as policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines set forth by the NC medical board and any other state and federal regulatory agencies. Understands the needs of the organization and supports the mission, values, and management of WakeMed.

Experience Requirements:
2 Years Clinical - Orthopaedics Required - And Clinical - Ambulatory Care Preferred

Education Required:
Bachelor's Degree Physician Assistant Required - And Master's Degree Physician Assistant Preferred; Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree Nursing Required

Licensure/Certification Requirements:
Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Required, And Board Certification in Area of Practice Required; Basic Life Support Required - Within 6 Months of Hire

Hours of Work:
nights 40 hours
