This full-time inpatient opportunity will allow you to work closely with extraordinary physicians and Magnet®-designated nurse leaders who are dedicated to nurturing growth, fostering discovery and exploring innovations. You’ll be a trusted and valued member of the children’s surgical team, ensuring coordination and continuity of patient care.
As an RN at UF Health Shands, you will:
Identify alterations in patient health, assess patient response to treatment and communicate that data to physicians.
Implement nursing interventions based upon established treatment protocols and anticipate potential outcomes for patients at risk for complications.
Supervise care provided by licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and unlicensed assistive personnel, and assign or delegate care to others on the health care team.
Work collaboratively to establish a culture of trust, where nurses are committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care.
Coordinate care between other professional disciplines as needed.
Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing to achieve optimal patient outcomes.
Promote the UF Health Shands vision for autonomous, accountable nursing.
Make the patient, their family and people significant to the patient an integral part of the assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation efforts whenever possible.
Participate in activities that contribute to a positive work and professional environment.
We’re seeking dynamic and well-rounded candidates with a current RN license in the state of Florida. A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)and professional nursing board certification are also preferred at time of hire, but you must obtain it within three years of employment.
