Have you always wanted to become a Perioperative Nurse? Well, here’s your chance! Phoenix Children’s wants you to join our team! Phoenix Children’s is hiring for the specialized Periop 101 training program for the Clinical Nurse Surgery Main Operating Rooms. In this position you will be enrolled in the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN) Periop 101 program to learn the fundamentals of circulating in the surgical environment. The nurse circulator provides care to patients needing surgeries and procedures under anesthesia. The role of a circulator is broad, unique and requires a wide variety of clinical and interpersonal skills. The program includes classroom time, simulation, and clinical shifts with a preceptor. This is a full time position and training will be Mon-Fri day shift until training is complete. Your schedule will be based on department needs at the time of program completion. Holidays and call are required for the Main OR. NO NEW GRADS; must have a minimum of one year acute or critical care experience in a hospital setting.
This position will work in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient and family to promote patient health through delivery of professional nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with evidence-based nursing and patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and regulatory standards.
Education
Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
Certifications
Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association or obtain within within 60 days of employment. (Required)
