Provides anesthesia services for surgical and procedural patients in the MHealth surgery and procedure center. Uses advanced knowledge skills and abilities to establish an environment of collaborative, integrated, quality, patient focused, care delivery for surgical patients at the CSC. The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is an advanced practice role with accountability for the patient’s individualized anesthesia care.
Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Assesses the patient prior to the anesthetic and identifies expected anesthetic outcomes
- Involves the patient, family and other health team members in gathering data
- Analyzes data to identify needs and potential risk
- Collaborates with the Anesthesiologist in planning anesthetic
- Involves patient, family and other health team members appropriately
- Develops plan based on medical condition, surgical procedure, age, social and cultural conditions
- Secures, prepares and provides thorough safety check on all equipment, monitors, supplies and drugs used for the administration of anesthesia
- Administers pharmacological agents based on individual patient need
- Establishes and maintains patient airway
- Informs supervising Anesthesiologist appropriately about problems or changes in patient’s status
- Collaborates with other health team members
- Reports to post anesthesia health care team regarding patient status and anesthetic course
- Demonstrates the ability to advance evidence based practice by utilizing standards, guidelines and pathways for care delivery
- Incorporates data and information into practice to continually improve care and practice so that patient outcomes are enhanced
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Licensure as a CRNA in state of MN.
- 2 to 3 years of successful CRNA experience. Successful experience with establishing an environment of collaborative patient-centered care for surgical patients.
- Ability to effectively use technology.
- ACLS and PALS certification. Knowledge of physiology, pharmacology and equipment related to the practice of anesthesia.
- Good evaluation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with and integrated interests of various disciplines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective relationships with stakeholders and patients.
- Critical thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 5 years of successful CRNA experience working with outpatient surgery patients
- Epic skills
