The Intensive Care nurse is a professional who manages the care of the critically ill patient through collaboration with nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare providers. The nurse coordinates and facilitates care to restore stability, minimize complications and achieve optimal patient outcomes within a dynamic, intensive care environment. Major duties may include but are not limited to; - Completes admission assessment on assigned patients within 24 hours of admission - Conducts reassessments on the patient every shift and as needed to determine rapidly changing conditions of patients - Transcribes provider's orders using CPRS - Takes verbal and telephone orders per policy - Completes patient care plans according to policy - Documents vital signs and assessments using CPRS every
